Senegal's Labour Code (Law No. 97-17 of 1 December 1997) and Law No. 2006-16 making occupational medicine mandatory require part of the staff to be trained in first-aid skills under Decree No. 2006-1258, with the employer also setting up a safety service and a hygiene and safety committee. The regulation sets a general duty to ensure prompt first aid, without a universal numeric first-aider ratio.

In Senegal, early-childhood structures (Cases des Tout-Petits, ages 2-5) follow a holistic development approach led by the National Agency for the Case des Tout-Petits, but daycare centres themselves are neither regulated nor standardised and no first-aid obligation is established for their staff. Absent a statutory mandate, training remains the reasonably expected standard for adults caring for the very young.

Senegal's Penal Code (Basic Law No. 65-60 of 21 July 1965), Article 49 paragraph 2, imposes an affirmative duty to assist, penalizing anyone who voluntarily abstains from helping a person in peril when they could do so without risk to themselves or others. There is no specific AED liability protection.

In Senegal, the nursing profession falls under the Ministère de la Santé et de l'Action sociale with no operational nursing order or mandatory CPD scheme, and no national mandatory continuing-education hours tied to license retention. Keeping resuscitation skills current is a matter of professional responsibility and employer expectation, met by any recognized continuing-education activity such as CPR/AED, ACLS or PALS.

In Senegal, care for older and dependent adults happens mostly through a largely informal home-care market and a few private residential settings, with no explicit national residential-care standard, so the first-aid requirement rests with the employer and varies. A recognized, up-to-date first-aid and CPR certificate is a common way to meet it, renewed periodically and in addition to the care worker's occupational training.

In Senegal, taking a child outside their family runs through family placement and legal guardianship (kafala), overseen by the ministry responsible for the family and the courts, with approval and follow-up by social services and the judge; no text explicitly names first aid. A current first-aid and CPR certificate from a recognized organization is commonly expected as part of readiness, in addition to the family assessment.

Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Senegal: the regulation requires part of the staff to be trained without prescribing a delivery mode, so online theory followed by a practical assessment is accepted. Certification is valid for 3 years.
